Razzaq-Nafis officially retire from all form of cricket
Abdur Razzak and Shahriar Nafis, two stars of the Bangladesh national cricket team, officially ended their playing career. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) gave them a farewell reception at a function in Mirpur on Saturday.
Even if the players end their playing career, the two will remain associated with the Bangladesh Cricket Board. The BCB has recently appointed Abdur Razzak to the selection panel. On the other hand, Shahriar Nafis is also set to take charge of an important post in the BCB, although no official announcement has been made yet,. The BCB is going to give him the responsibility in the cricket operations committee .
“Everything has an end,” said Abdur Razzak in farewell speaking. ‘Have to finish. Someone else will come in our place. They have to make room. If they need any help, we have to do it. It’s hard for me to say more than this. Because, it’s a huge decision for me. pray for me. ‘
Shahriar Nafis said, ‘I am very grateful to Allah. Because, I can proudly say that I played cricket for the Bangladesh team. Gratitude to my parents. Because, when I was 10 years old, I had decided to play cricket and the way they supported me, it helped me a lot. In my career I have received a lot of love from people. Thanks to the BCB for saying goodbye in such an environment.’
Abdur Razzak has played 13 Tests, 153 ODIs and 34 T20I matches for Bangladesh. He made his international debut on 16 July 2004 in an ODI against Hong Kong. He played the last match of his career in February 2016.
Shahriar Nafees, on the other hand, has played 24 Tests, 85 ODIs and one T20I in his international career. He made his international debut in June 2005 in an ODI against England. He played the last match of his career in April 2013.
